Job Description

Summary

The University of East London is seeking a Library Manager for the Docklands/Stratford Campus. The successful candidate will report to the Head of User Experience and Engagement and be responsible for managing a team including the Digital Learning and Technology Manager, Assistant Librarians, and Library & IT Support Assistants. Key duties include managing and developing customer-focused services, managing space, operations, and first-line services in the library, line managing a team of front-line staff, recruiting and training staff, ensuring library regulations and health and safety requirements are met, and contributing to strategic planning and policy development.

The candidate must have an undergraduate degree and experience in leading and managing a team. Desirable criteria include a professional qualification in library or IT and membership of a professional body. The candidate must have excellent communication and IT skills, and a commitment to providing excellent customer service. The role requires a flexible approach to working hours, including evening and weekend duties, and the ability to work at any of the University sites as necessary.
