Head of Content and Scholarly Communication

The University of West London is looking for a Head of Content and Scholarly Communication to lead their Content and Scholarly Communication team. The role involves managing the acquisition and procurement of physical and online information resources, metadata creation, support and development of specialized library systems, research support, and promoting open access publishing. The person will also work closely with Library Services, IT Services, and external systems, assisting in delivering strategic objectives.

The role requires strategic planning, procurement management, financial planning, staff leadership and development, and managing supplier relationships. The successful candidate should have a first degree or equivalent experience, senior experience in a library or academic environment, and knowledge in areas like scholarly communication, resource management, and procurement. Strong leadership, communication, and IT skills are also needed. The position may require work at different University sites as necessary. No DBS check is required for this role.
