Library Assistant: Content Provision
As a Library Experience Assistant at Loughborough University, the successful candidate will be part of the Library Experience Team working to deliver a high-quality, student-focused service. The role involves maintaining a study-friendly library environment, providing first-level support to students, staff, and visitors, and managing student behavior effectively. Other responsibilities include assisting students with locating resources, delivering library tours and inductions, and providing basic IT troubleshooting. The assistant will also help manage the live chat service, record student enquiries, and process applications.
The role requires weekend and evening work on a rota basis. The successful candidate should have a GCSE/O-level education or equivalent, or relevant library work experience, and ideally have experience in a front-facing customer service role in a higher education setting. They should be able to demonstrate a commitment to continuing professional development and an understanding of Middlesex University’s values and vision. The role offers 25 days of annual leave, plus public holidays and additional university holidays. The assistant should be able to commute to the Hendon campus without the need for car parking.
