Job Description

Summary

The Library Liaison Manager at Middlesex University will be a senior member of the Library and Digital Education Directorate. They will ensure students have access to appropriate materials and information literacy training. They will be key contact for the service, working with the Dean and Faculty/School leadership team. They will manage library collections, and ensure value for money from the learning materials budget. Salary is £40,000 to £49,999.

The Library Support Assistant will be part of the Library Experience Team. They will maintain a library environment that is conducive to study and learning. Duties include shelving, retrieving reserved resources, supporting the Collections and Library Liaison Teams with book stock moves, and assisting students with basic enquiries. The position is permanent with 638 hours per academic year. Starting salary is £23,591 per annum pro rata, rising incrementally each year.

The successful candidate must have GCSE or equivalent level of education, and experience of working effectively in a team and independently. Desirable attributes include experience in an academic library or other customer service role, and an awareness of Middlesex University's values and vision. They should be able to work occasionally on weekends and evenings.
