Repository Assistant, LSS
Middlesex University is hiring a full-time, temporary Repository Assistant for their Library & Student Support team. The role involves managing the Middlesex University Research Repository, ensuring the accuracy of records and their compliance with copyright legislation, and entering metadata and researchers' publications into the Current Research Information System. The assistant will also liaise with researchers and publishers on publication metadata, full text deposit, Open Access, Research Data Management, and copyright compliance.
The salary for this position ranges from £22,388 to £25,576 per year. The ideal candidate should have 5 A*-C GCSEs or equivalent, experience in entering high-quality data into an institutional repository or publications database, excellent IT skills, strong organizational and administrative skills, and a high level of attention to detail. Some evening or weekend work may be required.
The assistant will also be responsible for maintaining accurate publication data, troubleshooting and recommending improvements, maintaining statistics and reports, updating web pages, and providing training and advice to researchers and staff. Other responsibilities include assisting the Repository Manager in enhancing the repository and promoting it throughout the University.
