Summary

The Digital Experience Specialist at Birmingham City University will support the Systems, Access & Discovery Team Leader by conducting user experience and usability research for the digital library environments, including the L&LR website, Library Search, and other student/public facing websites. Working collaboratively with various teams, the specialist will plan, conduct, and analyze activities to ensure user needs are central to digital service design and delivery. The specialist will also gather information about library user communities, their motivations, behaviors, and barriers, and use this information to provide recommendations. Other responsibilities include supporting the presentation of content on library websites, designing the user journey and interface for digital discovery tools, and ensuring compliance with web accessibility standards and legislation.
