Head of Cultural Collections

The Head of Cultural Collections at Manchester Metropolitan University is a leadership role responsible for the continued development of the University's Library and Cultural Services. This includes leading the development of cultural collections, using these collections for education and research, and managing their digital transformation. The role oversees the North West Film Archive, Special Collections, Poetry Library teams, and the Cultural Collections Administrator. It requires active participation in the LCS Senior Leadership Group, contributing to the Library Transformation Programme, and building strong relationships with academics, cultural partners, donors, and funders. Applicants should have a relevant degree, professional qualifications related to library, archival, or museum collections, and significant experience in a senior role in a special collections, museum, or archive environment, preferably in higher education. The position requires excellent leadership, management, communication, planning, and problem-solving skills. The salary range is £50,000 to £59,999.
