Digital Archivist

The Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland is looking for a full-time Digital Archivist to work in their Library, Heritage Collections department at their Dublin campus. The Digital Archivist will be responsible for maintaining, developing, and delivering RCSI's digital heritage collections. Duties include digitizing, cataloguing, preserving digital resources, developing an online presence for the collections, leading digital asset workflow, and promoting the collections through public engagement activities.

Applicants should have a recognized postgraduate qualification in archival management or similar, excellent communication skills, experience managing a digital repository, knowledge of digital preservation standards, and excellent IT skills. Desirable qualifications include experience using Preservica and CALM, promotional or public engagement experience, understanding of academic research processes, and knowledge of the history of medicine/surgery. The ability to work efficiently on their own initiative is essential.
