Summary

Job Title: Academic Librarian at Loughborough University

Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with academic schools, professional services, and Library colleagues to ensure relevancy and excellence of Library services.
- Design and deliver high-quality student and researcher development opportunities.
- Advocate for Library services within academic schools.
- Provide expertise and advice on content to support learning, teaching, and research.
- Identify development opportunities and create interactive digital learning materials.
- Maintain knowledge of course provision within academic schools and advise on resourcing new programs.
- Act as an advocate for the Library, raising awareness of its services.
- Provide advice and support to students on the effective and ethical discovery, evaluation, and use of content.
- Maintain knowledge of research taking place within Schools and the scholarly communications landscape.
- Lead and co-ordinate portfolios in key areas of interest to support the Academic Services Team and Library services.
- Support the collation and analysis of user feedback and data for service improvements.

Qualifications:
- Degree or equivalent
- Relevant professional qualification
- Fellowship of the HEA or equivalent teaching qualification or willingness to achieve this once appointed.

Skills:
- Experience in a library, information, or teaching environment.
- Experience in a customer service environment.
- Able to design and deliver teaching sessions, workshops, and online learning materials.
- Excellent interpersonal, team working, negotiation, influencing, organisational, oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to handle and monitor varied workload, plan, prioritise and work independently.
- Excellent IT, information and data handling skills.

This is a part-time, permanent position with a salary range of £33,966 - 44,263 per annum, pro-rata. The University offers various family-friendly policies and supports flexible working arrangements. The deadline for applications is 28th April 2024.
