Content and Discovery Manager
The Content and Discovery Manager at Middlesex University is a senior role within the Library and Digital Education Directorate, responsible for managing the Library's content and collections service. This role involves ensuring that the service is customer-focused, cost-effective, and efficient, while also being innovative and responsive to the needs of the academic community.
The role holder will act as the business owner for the library management system, liaising with product managers and specialists to ensure it meets business needs. They will also manage the service budget for learning materials and the content and discovery team.
Key responsibilities include managing and developing library content and collections, leading the development of Library content and collections and systems, providing strategic oversight and planning for all aspects of content and collections management, and leading the Content and Discovery team.
The role requires relevant postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience, or an equivalent level of knowledge gained through other combinations of education, training, and/or experience. Desirable qualifications include a management qualification and active membership of a relevant professional body. The role also requires proven leadership skills, experience of library management systems, and familiarity with issues around content provision, management, and use, particularly in electronic information environments.
The role is based at the Hendon campus and offers a salary range of £41,875-£48,144. The role is permanent and reports to the Head of Content and Library Experience.
