Summary

The University of East London is hiring a Library and IT Student Assistant. The job involves assisting the Customer Experience team in delivering customer services at the University's libraries, performing basic administrative tasks, and directing student inquiries to appropriate departments. The assistant will also support the University Library's content provision activity and contribute towards service development. Duties include acquisition of scholarly content, maintaining library records, processing requests, shelving and tidying library materials, and responding to enquiries.

The candidate must have relevant administrative experience, experience in a library or similar environment, strong interpersonal and communication skills, good organisational and administrative skills, and good IT skills. They must also show a commitment to learning and developing new skills and hold at least 4 GCSE’s at Grade C or above.

Desirable qualifications include experience in a Higher Education setting, experience with a Library Management System, knowledge of monograph and textbook acquisition, and an understanding of the Higher Education environment.

The position is part-time and permanent, with a salary ranging from £22,911 to £24,044 per annum.
