Summary

Job Title: Research Information Manager at Middlesex University, within the Library & Student Support team.

Key Responsibilities: The candidate will lead the Research Support team, and be responsible for Research Information Systems, including Research Data Management systems and the Research Repository. They will draft and maintain University-wide strategies and policies, and develop training resources.

Principal Duties: The candidate will design and deliver a research information service, develop relevant policies, act as the University expert on scholarly communication issues, work with stakeholders for proper research data storage, develop efficient data curation practices, and provide strategic leadership for the Research Support team.

Requirements: The candidate should have a qualification related to information management or direct experience of the research process, awareness of issues associated with scholarly communication, experience with tools for managing digital assets, project management skills, excellent IT skills, and communication skills. They should also have the ability to work independently and in a team, and experience in staff management.

Desirable: A research degree, experience of collecting/curating complex datasets, knowledge of copyright law, and experience of developing or improving a service are desirable.

Salary: £44,355 - £50,996

Additional Information: There are no parking facilities at the Hendon campus for new staff, except for Blue Badge holders. Applications are to be completed via an application form.
