Summary

The Systems Technician at Goldsmiths, University of London, will be responsible for all aspects of support, deployment, and maintenance of specialist library information systems, software, and hardware. The role involves liaising and managing relationships with internal and external suppliers and stakeholders, resolving issues, and improving systems to ensure high-quality service delivery.

Key duties include delivering excellent customer service, training customers to use library systems and facilities, maintaining expertise in the area of work, analyzing data and statistics, engaging in library service projects, and managing relationships with suppliers and stakeholders. The Systems Technician will also be responsible for administering specialist library information systems, troubleshooting, maintaining and configuring library hardware and software, and providing technical support and expert advice to Library staff.

This role requires a degree or equivalent experience, and a professional qualification in librarianship or information science. The ideal candidate should have experience in supporting specialist library information systems, liaising with suppliers, finding and implementing technical solutions, and supervising, mentoring, or training others. They should also have knowledge of specialist library information systems, library cataloguing, and metadata, current and emerging technology, Critical Librarianship, and equity, diversity, and inclusion principles.

The successful candidate will be self-motivated, committed to delivering exemplary service, and dedicated to their own professional development. The salary range for this position is £30,000 to £39,999.
