Resource Librarian (Acquisitions and Collections)
Glasgow Caledonian University is seeking a Resource Librarian for Acquisitions and Collections. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and leading a new resource request service, managing both electronic and physical resources, and ensuring their efficient management. This includes managing the university's research outputs repository and educational resources repository. They will also be expected to lead inter-library lending and borrowing services, develop cataloguing and metadata standards, and liaise with various levels of management and staff to provide professional advice and service.
The ideal candidate should have a degree or equivalent professional qualification, with relevant experience in an academic or equivalent library service. Knowledge of metadata and cataloguing standards, library management systems, and strong problem-solving skills are required. Other desirable skills include knowledge of intellectual property, privacy, copyright, and licensing issues regarding digital resources.
This position is in the higher education sector, with a salary range of £25,000 to £29,999. The focus will be on content and cataloguing, as well as teaching, learning and liaison.
