Analyst Developer ( Library Operations)
The Analyst/Developer (Library Operations) at Ulster University will play a critical role in managing and developing the Library Management System (LMS) and related applications. They will manage account provisioning, administer library hardware and software, and provide technical advice. The role involves working with colleagues to review and revise processes, ensuring optimal performance across three campus libraries.
Main duties include developing and managing the University’s core library management system, managing data preparation for LMS integration, monitoring LMS functionality, liaising with colleagues and suppliers, and identifying opportunities within the LMS. They will also provide expert advice, deliver staff training, participate in project teams, support the Systems Manager in risk assessment, provide 2nd level support to the Library Help service, and ensure compliance with legal obligations.
Candidates should have a degree or postgraduate qualification in IT, Computer Science, or related discipline, or equivalent experience. They must have technical experience with large scale system administration and data management, proficiency in SQL, and ability to troubleshoot complex application/system problems. Excellent communication skills, teamwork, and flexibility are also required. Desirable qualifications include membership of a professional body, ITIL foundation certification, and knowledge of library services infrastructure.
