Assistant Librarian Open Access Publishing

Ulster University is seeking an Assistant Librarian - Open Access Publishing to join their Library Service department. The successful candidate will be responsible for the university-wide development and delivery of an efficient service to support open access publishing. Main duties include establishing procedures for timely review, assessment, and approval of funding requests, ensuring compliance with funder mandates and publisher licenses, and developing and monitoring processes to ensure research theses are made available open access via the University’s research repository. The role also involves line managing, supervising, and training staff, and ensuring deadlines imposed by financial and grant year requirements are met. Applicants must have a degree and a postgraduate qualification in Librarianship or Information Science, or a degree in Librarianship or Information Science. Experience in library work, using information technology in a library context, and handling queries from academic or research staff in relation to library resources or services is essential.
