Summary

The University of Salford is seeking an Archivist to manage, develop, and enhance the reach of their archival collections. The Archivist will work with internal partners and external cultural organizations, contributing to engagement projects, events, and educational programs. Key responsibilities include managing and cataloguing archival collections, supporting research and external engagement, facilitating the use of print and digital collections, and providing specialist advice. The role also involves actively developing partnerships across the University and with local, national, and international institutions, seeking funding opportunities, and contributing to collaborative projects. The successful candidate will have a degree in information management or archives management or substantial professional experience in the field. They should also have experience managing, cataloguing, and facilitating access to archival or heritage collections, and sourcing and bidding for project funding. Good knowledge of archival management practices and digital preservation technology is essential.
