Archivist
The Archivist is part of the Library's Heritage Collections team, which manages over 500 archive collections and approximately 50,000 rare books. The main responsibilities include providing access to collections via cataloguing, promoting and supporting seminars and research, addressing legacy issues with collections, and leading specific projects. The Archivist is also responsible for service delivery, including providing specialist support to readers and colleagues, supervising and leading seminars, and managing the work of junior staff. They will have a postgraduate qualification in Archives and Records Management or relevant experience, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and experience in managing and cataloguing archives. Knowledge of international standards and modern practices in archives and records management is also required. The role may require travel across all University campuses and occasional travel elsewhere in the UK or overseas.
